New Position Represents an Inventive Move Toward Creative Process Improvement

GREEN BAY, WI, April 30, 2005 — Jill Baker, a veteran art director with extensive expertise in graphic design, has taken a position as Product Manager with Arketype, Inc., an award-winning advertising and design firm. The position is the first of its kind for the company, and one Arketype believes is a first for the creative industry.

According to Arketype representatives, the position developed as a result of the firm’s ongoing efforts to implement process enhancements and product improvements, so as to more efficiently serve the needs of its growing client list. After researching conventional advertising agency environments, the firm failed to find an appropriate industry model, one that would integrate all the responsibilities necessary for quality assurance.

“What you typically find in most agencies is a kind of ‘traffic control’ person, someone who basically monitors assignments to make sure they’re done on time,” said Paul Meinke, Arketype’s co-principal. “But we wanted to create a more strategic position, one that would actively study the creative mix and talent capacity, and then apply an integrated approach to ensure the ultimate quality of each and every end product.”

In the new position, Baker will facilitate the development and completion of the creative process. Through efficiency planning and tactical maneuvers, she is expected to shape timelines and maximize the efforts of all 20 positions within the agency, consisting of graphic designers, copywriters, account executives, administrative personnel, as well as steering the contributions from outside talent, such as photographers and freelancers.

Baker’s 25-year graphic design experience includes Art Director positions at both EuroPharma and Enzymatic Therapy, where she helped to create brand images for consumer product lines. Her additional responsibilities included the coordination of national and regional trade show participation. Positions as Senior Graphic Designer for Bemiss-Jason, and Art Director for American Medical Security are other highlights in Baker’s notable design career.

Baker is active in the Green Bay Advertising Federation, having previously served as the group’s event chairman. She is also an annual participant in the exclusive American Institute of Graphic Arts creative workshops.

Arketype, Inc., delivers strategic marketing advantages to leaders of consumer and business-to-business brands, creating impossible-to-ignore design and advertising solutions. The national award-winning firm, established in 1992 and based in Green Bay, provides clients with diverse, cross-platform capabilities, from annual report design and integrated ad campaigns, to Website development, multimedia production, and original textile design. Arketype is the brainchild of co-principals Paul Meinke and Jim Rivett.
