Arketype, Inc. is partnering with Americans for the Arts to host a Creative Conversation entitled, "Creative Consortium: A New Financial Patron Approach," at 4 p.m. on October 27 at Arketype's office at 612 Stuart Street in Green Bay. The one-hour conversation is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
Creative Conversations are part of National Arts and Humanities Month, the nation's largest collective annual celebration of the arts coordinated by Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts. The events bring together local arts and community leaders to discuss challenges and issues regarding the arts in their communities and generate increased energy around the grassroots movement to elevate the profile of the arts in America.
"Our Creative Conversation will explore how to find and develop a grassroots consortium of financial backers consisting of arts lovers from all walks of life," said Jim Rivett, Arketype president and event coordinator. "This is a novel approach to securing capital to further artists' careers whereby patrons make an investment, develop a contract, and represent the driving force behind an artist's output."
"For six years Creative Conversations have been innovation incubators for a new generation of arts leadership," said Robert L. Lynch, president and CEO of Americans for the Arts. "The program provides the opportunity for arts leaders across the country to create a local community event that can bring together arts, business and civic leaders."

National Arts and Humanities Month (NAHM) is coordinated by Americans for the Arts. NAHM is designed to encourage Americans to
explore new facets of the arts and humanities in their lives, and to begin a lifelong habit of active participation in the arts and humanities. This month-long celebration grew out of National Arts Week, which Americans for the Arts, along with the National Endowment for the Arts, began in 1985. More information about National Arts and Humanities Month is available online at www.AmericansForTheArts.org/nahm.
